Calen
Calen is not ranked because it is not working. Sign-up and login don't work: the homepage's /auth/sign-up and /auth/login links, and the /auth/convert link shown when you try to save an event, all return 'This page could not be found' (404), checked 2026-10-26. Not ranked until new users can register.

Hosted event pages with one-click add to calendar for Google, Apple, Outlook, Office 365 and Yahoo, plus an email subscriber list that organizers can notify about new events. Aimed at creators and small communities; the paid tiers raise the subscriber cap.

What it is
Calen is a hosted event-page service run by Float Engineering K.K. in Tokyo. You create an event and share its link. Visitors add it to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, Office 365 or Yahoo with one click and no account. Visitors can also subscribe to an organizer, and the organizer can email those subscribers when a new event is published.
Pricing in plain words
| Plan | Price | Subscribers |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 |
| Pro | $9.99/month | 5,000 |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | 5,001+ |
Every plan has unlimited event pages and unlimited calendar adds. The only thing counted is subscribers, meaning people who follow you for email notifications. Pro also removes the “Powered by” branding and adds priority support. Analytics is listed under Pro but is not built yet. Enterprise adds team access, API access and invoice billing. Pro is billed monthly only, through Stripe, and unused time is not refunded. There is no yearly price or annual discount, no trial, and no nonprofit discount mentioned. The terms are governed by Japanese law.
Things to watch
- Sign-up is broken. The homepage’s sign-up and login links, and the link shown when you try to save an event, all go to a “This page could not be found” page (checked 2026-10-26). New users can’t create an account, so Calen is not ranked until this is fixed.
- Analytics doesn’t exist yet. The pricing page sells analytics as part of Pro, but the homepage and FAQ say it is “Coming soon”.
- Event pages only. The site doesn’t mention embeddable buttons or widgets, RSVP, calendar subscription feeds, Zapier, webhooks or custom domains. The API is Enterprise-only, and there are no public docs.
- Over the cap is undefined. Neither the pricing page nor the terms say what happens after 100 subscribers on Free.
- The edit claim is false. The FAQ says calendar entries “update automatically” after you edit an event. Calen’s add links save a copy of the event into each person’s calendar, and that copy does not change when you edit the event.
- Small and new. Calen started in 2026, and the homepage claims 500+ events and 10,000+ adds. With sign-up broken as well, continuity is a real risk.
- Its comparison table is vendor-written. It ranks Calen against CalGet, AddEvent and Luma. AddEvent’s $29 is that vendor’s yearly-billed price, not the monthly one.
